| Description: |
A steam cannon is a pipe with a built-in ball valve, connected to a steam pump, engine, or boiler, usually through a series of other pipes. When the valve is opened the cannon will release a blast of superheated steam and boiling water under pressure, scalding and/or knocking down anything it's aimed at. Range will vary considerably, depending entirely on the amount of pressure generated by the steam device it's powered by. Steam cannon are most useful for static defense of a steam-powered location. Using them will rapidly deplete the pressure (and thus energy output) of the device that powers them, making them less than ideal for use on steam-powered vehicles. |
